4chan Owns Time Magazine
It’s simple. If your internet poll allows for a write-in vote, expect the results to be hilarious. If you can’t deal with that, then get off the internets. Seriously, you’re clogging up the tubes. You’re a danger to us all!
NASA totally pussied out when Steven Colbert overwhelmingly won the online vote to get a room in the space station named after him, yet NASA named the room “Tranquility,” even though it wasn’t a top choice. (“Serenity,” which sounds like a bad 80′s relaxation tape, was a distant #2.) Instead, they named a treadmill after him. What’s that up your ass, NASA? A space stick?
On the other hand, TIME Magazine was a lot cooler. They recently had an online vote to determine who was The World’s Most Influential Person in 2009, and Anonymous voted en masse to crown 4chan.org creator moot as #1. Rather than double back and say, “you know, moot did really well, but it’s gonna go to Barack Obama. We’ll make moot our Honorary Internet #1 Dude in a sidebar on page 37,” they simply let the vote stand. Big ups, TIME!
Next year, I’m voting for Mudkipz, cause I leik them.

You have got to be kidding me! This is even more lame than the year “we” were the winners and the cover had a mirror on it.
This makes Colbert getting dicked over even more humiliating. At least NASA didn’t choose Serenity fro all the Joss Whedonites out there. How many more crap shows does he have to make before they learn?

Two different votes. TIME editorial decides the “Person of the Year,” which I agree was lame with the mirror cover. moot won the online voted “Most Influential Person,” which proves the 4chan army is powerful and should be taken (somewhat) seriously. Over 16 million votes for one person in an online poll? That’s awesome.
Alternate names NASA considered: “Dollhouse,” “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Spaceship Room,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season Eight: The Comic Book”
